Day 59 – Lima, Peru

Having decided against venturing into Lima on our own today, we did however spend a good hour in the artisan market which had set up right next to the ship. We easily spent all our Peruvian currency and came home laden down with locally made wares. All we need now is another suitcase to carry them all home! 🙄

After lunch we spent the afternoon by the pool, whilst watching the frenetic and non-stop freight loading activities going on all around us. It’s fascinating seeing how a major port operates like a super efficient and well oiled machine. How they know which container is which out of the tens of thousands on the quay is anyone’s guess.

This evening we sat and watched the sun go down as we said goodbye to Lima, almost certainly never to return.
