Day 41 – Kuala Lumpur Bridge, February 20, 2026February 23, 2026 Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia, a Muslim country of 34 million people and with a land mass of 127,724 square miles. Kuala Lumpur itself covers an area of 94 square miles and has a population of 2.1 million, although greater Kuala Lumpur comprises a population of nearly 9,000,000. The city has undergone rapid development in recent years and the Petronas Towers are the tallest twin buildings in the world and the 118 Tower is the tallest building in Southeast Asia. According to MasterCard Kuala Lumpur was the world’s sixth most visited city in 2019 (blimey!) and it is poised to become the world’d global Islamic financing hub. Today we only had four hours in the city because the bus ride from the port is 1 1/2 hours each way. In such a small space of time we couldn’t even scratch the surface, however we did walk miles around the Petronas Towers area, had lunch, and generally got very hot! The temperature today was 35 with high humidity, which is very trying for us poor Brits. 🥵 Daily Posts
