Day 38 – Buenos Aires, Argentina Bridge, February 10, 2025February 12, 2025 Buenos Aires, Argentina Today we arrived in Buenos Aires – woohoo!! What a stunning city! It is incredibly beautiful, has more magnificent architecture than you can shake a stick at, has countless wide and shady parks, is sophisticated, chic and has a very European vibe. In fact, 90% of its citizens are of European descent. It was also 37 degrees! 🥵 This morning we set off bright and early to do the ‘Sights of Buenos Aires’ tour which took us to the Recoleta Cemetery to see the tomb of Eva Peron (Evita), then to Plaza de Mayo where we saw the Pink Palace and the cathedral, and finally to El Caminito in the La Boca district where the corrugated zinc houses are all painted in bright colours and the streets are filled with stalls, restaurants and little shops. We also drove past the Teatro Colon and up Avenida 9 de Julio, the widest avenue in the world! We then headed back to the ship for lunch before venturing to the Plaza san Martin where we mooched up and down Florida Street and had coffee in the Galeria Pacifica. This evening we went to the world renowned Fogon restaurant for a traditional 9 course steak dinner, cooked on an open wood fire and served with a variety of exceptionally fine wines. By now we were absolutely worn out and we didn’t get back to the ship until after midnight. 🥱😴 Daily Posts
