Today we had a surprise guest speaker – Didi Conn (aka Frenchie) from the movie Grease!! Oh my goodness, what a lovely human being. She talked at length about the movie, showed us loads of behind the scenes photos, gave us insights into some of the actors, as well as talking very emotionally about her autistic son, and all the while maintaining the biggest smile and delivering every anecdote in the cheeriest manner imaginable. She then discovered that a man in the audience also had a severely autistic son who only smiles when watching Grease, and she asked him to wait at the end so that she could make a little impromptu video for him. She seemed genuinely thrilled that so many of us turned up to see her and the hour passed in the blink of an eye. What a lovely treat.
